School Health Services Project (SHS) called the silent infection in Pakistan millions of people die every year due to illness related to Hepatitis B infection. Early detection can help prevent complication arising from it.
Hepatitis B is an infection of your liver. It can cause scarring of the organ, liver failure, and cancer. It can be fatal if it isn’t treated. It’s spread when people come in contact with the blood, open sores, or body fluids of someone who has the hepatitis B virus. Health experts have stated that the hepatitis B and C virus is on the rise in the country affecting as many as 1.45 million people.
Management has initiated a School Health Services (SHS) project with the core objective of providing efficient and cost-effective care delivery system to the growing youth in terms of health screening; treatment options and necessary medical Counseling. To create health awareness at the Primary Level about these two diseases (Hepatitis B & C) which are highly prevalent nowadays in our country. In the first phase of our SHS project, we have focused our attention towards the most significant aspect of our times i-e screening and prophylactic measures for Hepatitis B & C especially among the School going children.
Practical Phases of the Programme.
- General briefing session with the Students, Parents and Teachers.
- Free medical camp and demonstration of selective screening techniques.
- Immunization phase for Hepatitis B.
For Several decades, recognition of the link between health and education has steadily increased, with the greater understanding that a child must be healthy to learn and a child must learn to be healthy.
